Harry Ptter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 - review

Transferred from my other blog !
I wrote this yonks ago BTW!

I am a HUGE fan of harry potter ,both the books and films so i decided to do this review for my school newspaper ! enjoy :)

It’s the year 1990 and an aspiring author is on a train trip from Manchester to London. She looks out the window and feeling slightly bored starts to make up stories in her head to pass the time. By the end of the journey 5 characters and a rough outline of a plot have been formed and embedded firmly in to J.k Rowling’s mind. She sets off adamant to write down her ideas although not expecting too much to come of it. 20 years later and the single mother of 1 is one of the richest women in the country .Her series of Harry Potter books have been published in 67 languages and the film versions have been some of the bestselling films of the decade. The Harry Potter series have somewhat been a success to say the least. So does the 1st instalment of the final 2 films Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 1 live up to the rest of its worldwide success and does it prove fit to be ‘the beginning of the end …?’
The Plot sees Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) go it alone In their final adventure severing ties with every-one they know to keep them safe from Lord Voldemort and his Death eaters .Bunking off their final year at Hogwarts the trio embark on a quest to track down and destroy Horcruxes (pieces of Lord Voldemort's Soul).A task set to them by the late Professor Dumbledore as the only way to finish The Dark Lord. However Harry , Hermione and Ron soon get side-tracked time and time again over the meaning of  a symbol that hold the key to the deathly hallows …Although explanation of all this is provided, a  familiarity with the book is a certain advantage.
This film is also the scariest and emotional yet. There were moments when I couldn’t help but look away or watch through my fingers as  another gory and terrifying scene  unfolded and if you’re scared of snakes, you might want to give this film a miss altogether! However beside all this                        there are lighter moments too .Daniel Radcliff in a bra (yes a bra!), and a dance scene between Harry and Hermione which mages to be sweet and funny at the same time although maybe giving viewers the wrong message about their relationship if you haven’t read the book. We have watched them grow up and their performances are better than ever particularly Rupert Grint who portrays his jealousy about Harry and Hermione so convincingly it feels entirely real.
The set pieces and terrific the magic is more breath-taking than ever and the atmosphere and emotions felt are amazingly powerful. Above all  the cliff-hanger leaves viewers desperately hungry for more and For me this Harry potter   undoubtedly proved to live up to expectations set by  the rest of the franchise . With more of the same promised from Part 2 (albeit with a lot more action as seen in the trailers) my only disappointment is that we’ll have to wait until July 2011 for the inevitable conclusion to unfold.
